Côte de Beaune lettuce is a Boston lettuce with fleshy, slightly blistered foliage, green in color tinged with a little red. Foliage very resistant to cold. Excellent fall lettuce. It comes to us from Portage seeds, and we have been growing it for 3 years.

Small oval-shaped cucumber, green striped with pale green, resembling a watermelon. 2 to 3 cm in diameter only! Cucumber and lemon flavor. Can be eaten raw or candied. Also called Mouse Melon, Mexican Cucumber, Gherkin Cucumber.

The "Dix Doigts de Naples" tomato, originating from the Naples region in Italy, is a semi-determinate variety of the San Marzano type. It consistently produces elongated red fruits in clusters. These hollow tomatoes, low in juice and seeds, are ideal for canning, sauces, coulis, and salads.

The origin of this tomato is not known, but according to a source on the web it comes from the Lanaudière region and is very old. Hopi Black Dye sunflowers grow tall and strong, and their flower have sunny yellow petals with a dark purple center. Reine des glaces lettuce is a bicentennial variety originating in France and often sold under the names Ice Queen and Queen of Ices in North America; Queen of the Ices in the UK; and Regina delle Ghiacciole in Italy. It is a batavia lettuce; its leaves are toothed, wavy, crunchy and have a sweet taste. This variety grows quickly and tolerates heat well; it does not develop a bitter taste and does not bolt easily. It also tolerates the first snowfalls well, which makes it very versatile. After the first harvest as an apple, you can continue to cut the fresh leaves.

This variety of small to medium tomato, resistant to diseases, offers a surprising citrus flavor. Introduced to France by Norbert Perreira, its thick skin, of a vivid orange-yellow, resists cracking. The abundant fruits grow in clusters on an indeterminate plant, requiring good support. Their fruity and lemony taste intensifies when grilled or dried.

This batavia-type head lettuce has light green foliage spotted with red, slightly wavy like a jester's costume. Its leaves are crunchy and tasty and the plant is very vigorous. Developed by Frank Morton in Oregon, it has both taste and aesthetic qualities. It comes from a triple cross involving “Reine des Glaces”, “Merlot” and “Flashy Troutback”.

Large tomato with orange flesh, very productive and tasty. This variety was given to us by René Paquet. With a bright color and smooth skin, it is excellent in sandwiches or cooked. Don't crack. Not to be confused with the ''Big Orange'' from the United States which is ribbed. This tomato arrived in Quebec through the Catalog des Semences du Patrimoine. It would be a member who received it from a certain Norbert Parreira, from France. He then offered it in the catalog and the members exchanged it... until 2005 when it disappeared. It is Mr. René Paquet, a passionate member then decides in 2019 to re-post it and share it with us.

We don't know a lot about the history of this tomato apart from the fact that it comes from Quebec. It is a ''potato leaf'' variety of tomato. The leaves therefore look more like potato leaves than those of a classic tomato. Of the beefsteak type, its flesh is generous, dense, sweet, dark pink in color and contains few seeds. One slice is enough to fill a sandwich. This a very productive variety that will ensure you an excellent harvest.

Shy in the garden, salsify blends in with grass when it is young. But its hardiness and lack of pests make it a wise choice for curiosity seekers. It is not the most productive plant, but it is worth the detour for its taste between hazelnut and parsnip. This plant is a real little sundial At the first light of dawn, meadow salsify opens directly towards the sun, then follows the course of the star until evening. From the dandelion family, it has an edible root with a slight nutty taste. The roots are tender and devoid of bitterness, provided they are picked before the flower stalk develops. The leaves are also edible. When the flowers appear, in the second year, it is possible to eat the flower buds like those of scorzonera.
