Cold-hardy tomato, early, sweet, productive, disease-resistant.

The Québec 309 tomato is a high-yield variety producing medium-sized, round, bright red fruits. It was developed by Mr. J. O. Vandal. It was listed in the Semences Laval catalog in 1955 and in the newspaper Le Soleil in 1958. It is well adapted to cooler climates and ripens early in the season. Resistant to common diseases, it produces sweet-flavored tomatoes ideal for fresh eating or canning. It is highly valued for its hardiness and its ability to adapt to northern Canadian conditions. CARE AND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS Gradually acclimate the plants to outdoor conditions about 10 days before planting by placing them outside during the day. When planting, lay the plants horizontally while gently bending the stem so that the leaves point upward.
