Tomato Ice Grow (Solanum lycopersicum)
Heirloom tomato from the 1960s!
Beaux fruits rouges, presque ronds, de 10 cm environ, mais peu réguliers. Très bonne saveur. Son nom proviendrait du fait qu’elle a eu à supporter la grêle. Cultivée par M. Guy Bourgeois, jardinier maraîcher à Ste-Dorothée, Laval, dans les années 1950-60, pour être vendue au marché Bonsecours, ancien marché public dans le Vieux Montréal. Merci à sa fille Suzanne d’avoir transmis des semences. Elles nous ont été données par René Paquet qui les a eu d'Antoine D’Avignon, un des pionnier au Québec de la sauvegarde des semences ancestrales.
