From Quebec trees adapted to cold areas.

Asimine, also called Paw Paw, is a tropical fruit growing in the northern climate of Quebec. Its size is similar to that of a mango. Its taste is a happy mix of mango, banana, pineapple and cantaloupe. This tropical wonder was cultivated by indigenous people before the arrival of settlers, more precisely in southern Ontario. The Paw Paw lost popularity when bananas arrived in North America, as it was seen as "the poor man's banana." Don't let this description fool you, this fruit has a very good taste. Some people eat it with dairy products, like in a “milkshake.”

Once ripe, the fruit only keeps for a few days, which is why it is not further marketed.
