Fleur étonnante et élégante, le zinnia est une annuelle qui se décline en multiples couleurs : jaune soleil, orange éclatant ou rose fuchsia. Son nectar attire sans relâche les colibris et autres pollinisateurs.
Le zinnia est originaire du Mexique. Exposé au soleil, il s’est disséminé à travers les prairies sèches, sur une zone s’étendant du sud-ouest de l’Amérique du Nord jusqu’en Amérique du Sud.
