San Marzano tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
Italian tomato, meaty, low seed, ideal for sauces
Italian red tomato, 8 to 10 cm long. Contains very few seeds and little water. Excellent for cooking, sauces, homemade tomato paste, purées, and all types of processing. A fairly productive variety with good disease resistance. CARE AND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS Gradually acclimate the plants to outdoor conditions about 10 days before planting by placing them outside during the day. When planting, lay the plants horizontally while gently bending the stem so that the leaves point upward.
